PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's tennis team snapped a string of three straight losses with a 7-2 victory over Alfred University on Saturday afternoon at the Nazareth Indoor Tennis Courts.
The Cardinals (2-10 overall, 2-5 Empire 8 Conference) completed the season sweep of the Saxons, who fell to 1-12 overall and 0-5 in Empire 8 play.
Sean Brown/Trentyn Grant and Charlie Roberts/Dante Buttino recorded doubles victories for the Cardinals. Brown and Grant won their fifth match as a tandem, while Roberts and Buttino won their third match this season as doubles partners.
The Cardinals won five of the six singles matches, with Tyler Hernandez earning his team-best sixth win of the season. Mason Shute picked up his first singles victory of the season.
