PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher baseball team (13-13 overall, 8-4 Empire 8) split the final two games of its weekend three-game set against Utica, dropping the first game 8-7 and winning the second 10-9 on Sunday at Dugan Yard. 
Game 1: St. John Fisher 7, Utica 8
	- 
	The Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead from a Brendan Bucello RBI double that scored Mario Cubello. 
- 
	Jack Griffin extended the lead to 4-1 with a two-run single that scored Cubello and Jackson Frey in the second inning 
- 
	Utica mounted five-run third inning to take the lead. The Pioneers expanded their lead to 7-4 with a solo-homer in the fourth.  
- 
	The Cardinals clawed back to a tie game in the bottom of the sixth, when Jordan Perry tripled home the tying run to make it 7-7.  
- 
	Utica scored on a sacrifice fly in the 7th to make it 8-7 before closing out the win in the bottom half of the inning. 
Game Notes

	Griffin went 3-3 at the plate with three RBI 
- 
	Patrick McGuire threw 2.1 innings of relief for the Cardinals, tallying 5 strikeouts. 
Game 2: St. John Fisher 10, Utica 9
	- 
	The Cardinals jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first two innings. Bucello had a double in the first and a single in the second inning, tallying three RBI. The other run came from an Austin Droge single that scored Bucello.

	Utica scored four runs to tie the game at six in the sixth inning with an RBI single and a bases-clearing, three-run triple. The Pioneers scored two more runs in the top of the seventh to take an 8-6 lead.

	The Cardinals trailed by two, 9-7, entering the bottom of the ninth. With the bases loaded and nobody out, Mario Cubello drew a walk to make it 9-8. Bucello and Griffin were hit by pitches, leading to the game-tying and game-winning runs to cross home plate. 
Game Notes
	- 
	Austin Droge and Ryan Vanderlip both had three hits. Vanderlip tallied two doubles; Droge had a double and a triple.  
- 
	Bucello, who also tallied three hits in the ballgame, led Fisher with a career-high four RBI.  
- 
	Nathan Benjamin, who was the winning pitcher, threw 1.1 innings of shutout relief, allowing only one hit. He struck out one batter.
