UTICA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's lacrosse team exploded for a program-record 32 goals on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 32-7 Empire 8 win over SUNY Poly at Wildcat Field.
With the win, their fifth in a row, the Cardinals improved to 9-4 overall and 5-0 in conference play. SUNY Poly dropped to 5-6 overall and 1-4 in Empire 8 play.
The Cardinals have won 40 consecutive games (regular season and postseason) against Empire 8 teams.
How It Happened
- Fisher struck early and often, scoring eight unanswered goals in the first quarter and opening up a 20-1 lead by halftime.
- Colin Blakeslee opened the scoring, followed by quick goals from JP Revitte, Brady Mason (twice) and Jordan Leuze (twice). By the end of the first, the Cardinals held a commanding 8-0 lead and never looked back.
- The second quarter saw even more offensive firepower. Lane Edinger, Braeden McNeill, Robbie Salit, Garrett Sutton, Terrence Cleary and Keaton Piconi all got on the board, while Mason completed his hat trick before Owen Bogue made it 20-1 at the break.
- Fisher added five more goals in the third and seven in the fourth. Carter Van Holland, Vincent Scibello and Tyson DeLisio all scored three goals in the second half; Kyler Ringgold scored twice.

The Cardinals had 18 players score a goal and 21 record at least one point.

Ringgold set career highs in assists (6) and total points (8). He also scored twice as part of his second collegiate multi-goal game.

Mason, who had three goals and one assist, passed Mitch Ritchie (162 career points) for 10th on the program's all-time points list. Mason now has 163 career points.

Including Mason, five Fisher players tallied three goals. The others included Leuze, Van Holland, Scibello and DeLisio.

Freshman Reece Millison scored his first collegiate goal and tallied his first collegiate assist.

Fifth-year senior Timmy Salit tallied three assists.

Fisher won 32 of 40 faceoffs, led by Scott Reeves (12-for-14), Bryce Riffel (14-for-17) and Jaden Tantillo (6-for-7).

The Cardinals outshot SUNY Poly 69-19 (43-9 on goal), collected 58 ground balls and went a perfect 16-for-16 on clears.
