Men's Lacrosse Pushes Winning Streak To Six With Commanding Win Over Brockport

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's lacrosse team pushed its winning streak to six games with a 25-4 victory over the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles on Wednesday evening at Growney Stadium. 

The Cardinals improved to 10-4 overall (6-0 Empire 8) with the victory. Brockport, which entered the contest having won three straight games, fell to 6-7 overall (3-3 Empire 8). 

The Cardinals have won 41 consecutive games (regular season and postseason) against Empire 8 teams. 

How It Happened 

  • The Cardinals ripped off five goals in the first quarter, with graduate senior Timmy Salit scoring the first two. Sophomores Robbie Salit and Sean Donaldson and junior Brett Seaman all scored once. 

  • Fisher blew the game wide open in the second quarter, scoring seven times to take a 12-0 lead into halftime. Robbie Salit and senior Brady Mason scored twice, and Donaldson added his second tally of the contest. Seniors Ethan Kesselring and Colin Blakeslee had the other two goals in the quarter. 

  • Donaldson added his third goal early in the third quarter, and sophomore Garrett Sutton scored his first of three in the second half before Brockport broke a stretch of 14 unanswered tallies. 

  • Sophomore Carter Van Holland (2) and freshman Tyson DeLisio (2) also scored multiple goals in the second half. Kesselring scored his second goal of the game in the fourth quarter. 

  • Sophomore Scott Bovard, junior Lane Edinger and seniors Scott Reeves and Kyler Ringgold also got in on the scoring in the final 30 minutes. 

Game Notes

  • The Cardinals' 25 goals marked the second most they have scored in a game this season (they had a program-record 32 this past Saturday at SUNY Poly). They have outscored their last two opponents 57-11. 

  • Donaldson set season highs in goals (3), assists (2) and total points (5). 

  • Sutton's three goals marked a career high. 

  • With two goals, Mason tied Andrew Rosso (2015-18) for eighth on the program's all-time goals list.

  • Timmy Salit tallied three assists to push his career total to 99. He now has 181 career points, the seventh-most in Fisher history. 

  • Senior defenders Zach Stirpe and Jack Cornell each caused a pair of turnovers. Cornell scooped up seven ground balls. 

  • Reeves (6 of 9 and freshman Bryce Riffel (13 of 16) dominated the face-off x. 

  • Junior Tyler Manning made seven saves in net.
