HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's tennis team (1-7, 1-2 Empire 8) beat Alfred University (1-8, 0-3 Empire 8) 6-3 on Friday evening for its first dual match victory of the season. 

How It Happened 

• Sean Brown/Trentyn Grant and Dante Buttino/Charlie Roberts earned victories in doubles action for the Cardinals. 

• Tyler Hernandez, Brown, Grant and Roberts earned victories in singles. 

• Hernandez improved to a team-best 4-3 on the season with his singles victory. Roberts and Grant recorded their first singles wins of the year. 

• Brown and Grant improved to 4-2 as a doubles tandem this season.
