PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Five players scored in double figures to lead the St. John Fisher men's basketball team to a 90-72 victory over SUNY Canton on Tuesday night at Manning & Napier Varsity Gym.

How It Happened
The Cardinals began the game on a 6-0 run, but the hot start didn't last long as Canton used a 16-4 surge over about three minutes to take a 16-10 lead.
Schillaci and McCaffrey helped the Cardinals regain their rhythm offensively during an 11-3 push that put Fisher back in front, 21-19. Schillaci scored six points during that stretch, while McCaffrey added four.
The Roos briefly retook the lead, but Fisher tied the game at 23 with a Janes layup and took a three-point lead, 26-23, on a three-pointer from Violante. After Canton pulled even one more time later in the half, Fisher again had a quick response, as Janes and McCaffrey nailed triples to put the Cardinals ahead 41-35. The Cardinals, who stayed in front the rest of the way, took a 48-43 lead into halftime.
Behind four points from McCaffrey and freshman guard Mekhi Gidney, Fisher pushed its lead to 11 points, 60-49, with a 12-4 spurt in the early stages of the second half. The Cardinals maintained a comfortable advantage from there and eventually led by as many as 20.
Schillaci knocked down all three of his 3-pointers in the second half to lead Fisher with nine points. Michalski scored eight of his 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting in the frame.
