PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Junior Lily Miller improved to 7-0 on the season in singles play, but the St. John Fisher women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to East Avenue rival Nazareth on Wednesday evening.
The Golden Flyers (6-4, 4-3 Empire 8) swept the Cardinals (5-3, 5-2 Empire 8) in doubles and won four of six singles matches. The Cardinals currently hold the No. 3 seed for the E8 Tournament, which begins next week Tuesday or Wednesday.
Miller topped Anna Spencer in two sets, 6-2 and 6-4, to remain perfect. Senior Anna Exford had the other singles win for the Cardinals, beating beating Isabella Iannitti in three sets to move her record to 6-2.
