Linder Scores Twice As Men's Soccer Blanks Keuka 3-0

KEUKA, N.Y. – Nik Linder led the charge with two goals as the St. John Fisher University men's soccer team picked up a convincing 3-0 road win over Keuka College on Saturday afternoon at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. 

Winners of three straight games, Fisher improved to 5-8-2 overall and 5-3-2 in conference play with the victory. It currently owns the No. 4 seed for the Empire 8 Conference Tournament, which is set to begin next Saturday. 

Fisher, which began the season 0-7-1, has turned its season around with a 5-1-1 October. 

How It Happened
The Cardinals took control early as Linder opened the scoring in the 21st minute, then doubled the lead with his second goal of the match just before halftime in the 42nd minute.

Fisher continued to press after the break, and Dimitris Kyriazis sealed the result with a goal in the 71st minute to make it 3-0.

The Fisher defense was solid throughout, limiting Keuka to just five total shots while goalkeeper Parker Stusek made two saves to earn the shutout.

Game Notes

  • Fisher outshot Keuka 23-5, including a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal.

  • Stusek recorded his sixth shutout of the season.

  • Linder netted his first two goals of the year.
