PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Two St. John Fisher University student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Empire 8 Conference.
Blake Petocchi (Fifth-Year Senior, Men's Soccer) – Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week
Petocchi tallied two assists and helped lead a defense that didn't surrender a goal in Fisher's wins over Houghton (3-0) and Hartwick (1-0) last week. The fifth-year senior defender tallied both of his assists in the win over Houghton on Wednesday.
The Cardinals, who have allowed just one goal this month, improved to 4-8-2 overall (4-3-2 Empire 8) with the wins. They have won four of their last six games.
This marks Petocchi's first time earning an E8 weekly accolade.
Ryann Dauksza (Senior, Women's Soccer) – Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week
Dauksza tallied three assists and helped the Cardinals keep a pair of opponents off the board in wins over Houghton (4-0) and Hartwick (3-0) last week.
Dauksza had two assists as part of her second multi-assist performance of the season on Wednesday against Houghton at Growney. She had one helper on Saturday on the road against Hartwick.
The Cardinals, who've outscored their E8 opponents 27-1 this year, improved to 8-4-2 overall and 7-1-1 in conference play with the pair of wins.
Dauksza has been named E8 Defensive Player of the Week twice this season.
