Women's Soccer Blanks Hartwick 3-0

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's soccer team recorded its ninth clean sheet of the season on Saturday afternoon in a 3-0 road victory over Hartwick College. 

Winners of five of their last six contests, the Cardinals improved to 8-4-2 overall (7-1-1 Empire 8 Conference) with the victory. Hartwick dropped to 7-3-5 (4-2-3 Empire 8).

How It Happened
The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute when senior forward Brooklyn Drago found the back of the net off a setup from senior defender Ryann Dauksza

In the second half, sophomore forward Emily Woolingham doubled the lead in the 58th minute with an unassisted tally. Sophomore defender Abby Dorunda added the finishing touch with another unassisted goal in the 73rd to make it 3-0.

Fisher's defense held strong throughout, limiting Hartwick to just four total shots. Goalkeeper Isabella Ayers made two saves in her second consecutive shutout. 

Game Notes

  •  Fisher has outscored its conference Empire 8 Conference opponents 27-1 over seven games this season. 

  • Wooolingham's goal in the second half marked her team-leading seventh of the season. She also leads Fisher with 20 total points. 

  • Woolingham has scored in four of the Cardinals' last six games. 

  • Dorunda tallied her fourth goal of the season, while Drago recorded her third. 

  • Dauksza has three assists in Fisher's last two games. 

Up Next

The Cardinals face Keuka College at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Growney Stadium. They will honor their seniors during a brief ceremony before the game.
