Brown's Late Goal Salvages A Draw For Fisher Men's Soccer

PITTSFORD, NY – Fifth-year senior Ryan Brown's late goal on a penalty kick forced a 1-1 draw between the St. John Fisher University men's soccer team (1-1-2, 0-0 Empire 8) and the Oswego State Great Lakers (2-0-1, 0-0 SUNYAC) on Saturday night at Growney Stadium.

Brown's goal, which came on the first penalty kick of the season for the Cardinals, knotted the contest up at the 88:18 mark. It was the first goal of the captain's career.

Oswego opened the scoring in the first half at the 29:23 mark when Jason Wuytack found the back of the net on a long assist from HaJoon Lee. It was his first goal of the season.

The Cardinals outshot the Great Lakers 9-7 overall and had a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal. Senior Adam Grover led Fisher in both categories (2).

Fisher goalkeeper Christian Burkhart made two saves and allowed just his second goal in four games. He came into the contest off two consecutive clean sheets.
