PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The No. 7 University of Rochester women's soccer team (5-0-1) scored three second-half goals in a shutout victory over St. John Fisher (3-2-1, 1-0 Empire 8) on Tuesday night at Growney Stadium.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sofia Pantoja and Fisher's defense kept the game within reach for the first half and then some. Pantoja made seven saves, some of them on quality Rochester scoring changes, to set a career-high.
The Yellowjackets, which put 10 of their 20 total shots on net, broke through at the 51:18 mark when Eileen Harvey buried a deep shot on an assist from Natalie Kocsis. Hannah Nagashima scored to make it 2-0 in the 70th minute, and Claire Grover scored the final tally in the 83rd minute. Natalie Santangelo had the assist on the latter goal.
The Cardinals had 16 shots with five on net. Junior Madelyn Wania had three shots on goal, while senior Riley Grimm had two.

The Cardinals host SUNY Geneseo at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Fisher is 1-3-3 in the series against Geneseo, which is new to the Empire 8 this season.
