PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the 2023-24 Academic All-District women's Basketball team. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
The St. John Fisher University women's basketball team had four players selected,
Sidney Tomasso,
Claire Kruszka,
Katie Moravec and
Presleigh Brunner.
This season, the Waverly native won the Empire 8's Player of the Year award as well as a place on the All-Conference first team during the regular season, while also being named WBCA All-America Honorable Mention. Playing and starting in 22 of the team's 25 games, Tomasso finished first on the team in points per game (16.0, second-best in the conference) and second in overall points (351). She was third in the conference in free-throw percentage (.785) and finished the regular season in eighth in the conference in rebounds per game (6.9) and field goal percentage (.423).
Kruszka earned All-Conference honors for the fourth consecutive season, including her third time on the All-Conference second team. The senior guard led the entire Empire 8 in steals with 71 overall and 2.7 per game. She also finished the regular season tied for second in overall assists (79) and third in assists-per-game (3.0). One of the best at avoiding turnovers, her 1.9 assist/turnover ratio was best in the conference.
Moravec played in 29 games and started in 28 of them, averaging 24.6 minutes per game. She averaged 8.7 points per game (4
th on team), 3.4 rebounds per game (5
th on team), 2.2 assists per game (2
nd on team) and 1.9 steals per game (T-2
nd on team). Brunner appeared in 29 games and started in 23 of them, playing 21.8 minutes per game. She scored 7.4 points per game, while adding 3.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
