Softball drops two to University of Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University softball team dropped two game to the University of Rochester on Tuesday.

 

The games were originally scheduled to be played at Fisher and the Cardinals were officially the home team for both games. 

 

GAME 1: ROCHESTER 3, SJF 0

The Cardinals fell in a pitcher's duel in game one, as the two teams combined for only nine combined hits: six of U of R, three for Fisher. Junior Aisnley Evanetski went all seven innings, striking out four, but the Cardinals couldn't get to Yellowjacket starter Molly Broccolo, despite threatening in the bottom of the fourth. 

 

Junior Mari Spitz, freshman Emily McManus, and junior Cassidy Evanetski had Fisher's hits. 

 

GAME 2: ROCHESTER 12, SJF 0 

Fisher lost the second game of the doubleheader in a five-inning run-rule game. Much of the damage was done in the first and fifth innings when the Yellowjackets scored six and five runs, respectively. 

 

Spitz, sophomore Madi Rose, and junior Katie Mannis had Fisher's hits. 

 

UP NEXT

The Cardinals play next on Wednesday, March 27, at RIT. Game one of the doubleheader is 3:00 P.M.
