PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's volleyball team earned its first Empire 8 victory of the season on Saturday, beating SUNY Geneseo in four sets at the Manning and Napier Varsity Gym.

The Cardinals improved to 8-7 overall (1-1 Empire 8). They have won three of their last four matches.

In her fourth contest of the season, freshman Cadence Milligan recorded a career- and match-high 41 assists. She had 61 assists over two matches this weekend.

Sophomore middle blocker Ana Gutman had 11 kills and posted a team-high .556 hitting percentage. She also had a match-high four blocks.

Merrimack junior transfer Marilyn Whitcavitch had a season-high 10 kills, four service aces and a pair of blocks for 15 total points. She posted a .261 hitting percentage.

Sophomore outside hitter Kaylene Noble led the Cardinals with 16 kills and hit .237 in the match. She accounted for 18 points.

With 11 digs, junior libero Kiera Hartpence surpassed 1,000 for her career.

Fisher had 53 kills to Geneseo's 35.
