PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University field hockey team closed the regular season on Thursday night with a 1-0 victory over SUNY Brockport at Dr. Linda Arena and Class of '69 Field.

The Cardinals (8-10, 6-3 Empire 8) will be the No. 4 or No. 5 seed and face crosstown rival Nazareth in the opening round of the Empire 8 Field Hockey Championship next Monday, Nov. 4.

The Cardinals would clinch the No. 4 seed and host Nazareth with a Golden Flyers loss to Elmira on Saturday afternoon. They would face Nazareth on the road if the Golden Flyers beat Elmira.
