UTICA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's basketball team stayed undefeated on Tuesday, defeating Utica 85-44.
The Cardinals led throughout most of the game, grabbing the lead for good on a three-pointer by senior guard Claire Kruszka with 6:15 left in the first quarter, 8-6, and never looking back.
Kruszka, a reigning Empire 8 Player of the Week, led the way with 15 points and also had four assists and three steals. Freshman forward Joleen Lusk had 14 points and nine rebounds, as well as two blocks.
Junior guard Sidney Tomasso (12 points), sophomore guard Presleigh Brunner (10 points), and junior guard Katie Moravec (10 points) also reached double digits for the game.
The Cardinals, winners of 11 straight, return to action on Saturday, January 20, at arch-rival Nazareth University. Tip-off down the street is at 5 p.m.
