PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's volleyball team traveled to William Smith College to compete in the Heron Invitational. The Cardinals battled Stevens University on day one and knocked off the Ducks, 3-1.
 
The teams traded leads to begin the first set, but Stevens began to pull ahead, leading 17-13. Olivia Nellis pulled the team to within one with two kills, before Delayne Young evened the score at 19-19. As the frame reached its conclusion Fisher trailed 25-24, but then a pair of errors and kill by Nellis secured three straight points and a set one win.
 
In the second set, the Ducks once again jumped out to a lead, this time it was 15-9. The Cardinals answered going on a 7-2 run to cut the deficit to one, before kills by Kaylene Noble and Nellis evened the score at 18-18. A pair of kills by Young including two errors by the Ducks allowed Fisher to take the second frame, 25-21.

Even with Stevens winning the third set, the Cardinals bounced back nicely taking the fourth. Similar to how its been all afternoon, this one began with both teams trading points. Kills by Noble and Reilly Morrow, pushed the lead to 18-14 and despite a late push by the Ducks, Fisher secured the set and match.
 
Noble led the way with 14 kills and added two service aces and two block assists. Young contributed 13 kills and defensively recorded 11 digs. Morrow was the primary setter and distributed 40 assists.
