LA VERNE, CA – The St. John Fisher University women's volleyball team completed the Pacific Coast Classic with a match against St. Catherine University. The Cardinals fell to the Wildcats, 3-1 to drop to 0-3 on the young season.
The team dropped the first set but bounced back in the second set, taking it 25-21. Kills by
Kristen McIntosh and
Kaylene Noble helped push the lead to 8-5, and another run of kills by
Reilly Morrow and McIntosh held off the Wildcats to stay ahead 16-12. Down the stretch
Brooke Segars, Morrow and
Delayne Young all tallied points to secure the set victory. After dropping the third frame, the Cardinals impressed in the fourth, going ahead 20-14. Unfortunately, St. Catherine used an 11-1 run to take the set and the match.
Up next for the Cardinals is a home tri-match. They will welcome SUNY Geneseo and Heidelberg University to Fisher for matches at 4 p.m., 6 pm. and 8 p.m.
