Men’s Soccer Draws at RIT, 1-1

HENRIETTA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's soccer team played RIT to a draw on Saturday night, 1-1.

Senior Greg Ranieri had the lone Fisher goal, receiving the ball from sophomore Reese Powers and putting it into the lower-left part of the goal for the 1-1 equalizer in the 38th minute.

It was Ranieri's first collegiate goal, and Powers' first assist of the season.

The Cardinals were outshot, 15-7, but were able to hold on for the draw thanks to the play of senior goalkeeper Jadon Schlierf, who made five saves including a last-second attempt by RIT's Randy Dickersbach.

St. John Fisher returns to the pitch on Tuesday, Sept. 19, when they host the University of Rochester. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
