Cardinals Drop Road Matchup Against Geneseo

GENESEO, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University field hockey team were on the road on Wednesday to take on SUNY Geneseo. The Cardinals were unable to overcome an early deficit and fall to the Knights, 5-2, and now maintain a 1-4 record.

Fisher fell behind 3-0 in the opening eight minutes of action. Neither team scored again until the third quarter, with the Knights making the score 5-1 at the 33:42 mark. A few minutes later, an assist by Morgan Gregory allowed Audrey Grieb to knock in her first goal of the year. The matchup remained scoreless and the Cardinals recorded a 5-2 loss.

Choate finished the game with seven shots, four of which were on goal. Molly Fisher, Grieb and Anna Melfi all tallied shots on target.
