ASHLAND, VA – The St. John Fisher University softball team saw their season come to an end on Friday after competing in an elimination game against host school Randolph-Macon College. After five innings of play, the Cardinals fell by a final score of 11-3.
Fisher fell behind in the opening inning, trailing 6-0 before coming to bat for the first time. They did chip away at the deficit immediately. After

Mari Spitz send a ball over the centerfield fence to put the team behind 6-3. Unfortunately, the team was unable to string together hits to score any more runs the rest of the day.
Jess Patterson drew the start and went 0.1 innings, surrendering six runs on four hits.
Ainsley Evanetski came in for relief and tossed 2.2 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and walking three.
Cassidy Ormond finished the final 2.0 innings surrendering two runs on five hits.
