Mens Tennis Wrap Up Weekend On The Road

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University Men's Tennis team were on the road this weekend. They were at Houghton University on Saturday before heading to Utica University for a contest against the Pioneers. The Cardinals fell to the Highlanders 8-1 to start the weekend.
 
Game One: Fisher 1 – Houghton 8
 
Fisher dropped all three double matches to start the afternoon. Jake Anthony and Sean Danahy went down 8-3, Anthony Molosag and Nick Licciarddello fell 8-2 and the duo of Zach Decaro and Will Chubb lost by a final of 8-0.
 
Danahy kicked off the singles battles with a loss in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Anthony got the teams sole win of the day defeat his opponent, 7-5, 6-5. Molosag, Licciarddello and Ryan Wilson combined to win just two games between them, while Chubb fell 6-2, 6-2 to his opponent.
 
Game Two: Fisher 6 – Pioneers 3
 
The Cardinals fell behind in the doubles matches, dropping two out of three. The winning duo was Molosag and Licciarddello, who won 8-4. Fisher turned it up in the singles matches, winning five out of the six to claim the victory.
 
Danahy kicked it off with a hard fought 7-5, 6-2 win over his opponent, before Anthony made quick work for his win, taking straight sets 6-2, 6-0. Chubb and Ryan Wilson won their matches handily to be the deciding factor in the teams victory. Decaro topped things off with a 6-3, 6-3 win,
 
The Cardinals will celebrate Senior Day prior to their next opponent on Friday, April 7. Fisher will host Oswego State for a scheduled 4 p.m. match.
