PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The No. 2 seeded St. John Fisher University women's soccer team fell at No. 1 seeded Nazareth University on Saturday in the Empire 8 Championship, 3-0.
Despite outshooting the Golden Flyers, 23-16, the Cardinals were unable to get a goal against Nazareth's Annika Monfort. The Golden Flyers, meanwhile, pulled ahead in the first half with a goal in the 12th minute and then added two more in the second half to send the Cardinals down in defeat.

Emma Spelman was the most aggressive attacker for Fisher, sending in six shots including two on goal. Junior
Riley Grimm and freshman
Francesca Logrippo had four shots each. Sophomore
Avery Byrnes made six saves on the day.
The Cardinals' runner-up finish is the program's second such finish in the Empire 8 in recent years- the team also lost the conference championship game to Nazareth in 2021.
St. John Fisher ends the season with a 8-4-5 record. The Women's Soccer NCAA Selection show is scheduled for Monday at 1:30pm.
