PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University wrestling program will join the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as associate members along with Ithaca, RIT and Utica beginning in 2023-24.
 
The four new members join Brockport, Cortland, Oneonta and Oswego to make up the eight-team conference.
 
"We are excited to be joining a conference with such outstanding institutions and history," said head coach Ryne Morrison. "We are looking forward to the great competition and putting our own stamp on the history of the SUNYAC."

The announcement was made on Thursday by SUNYAC Commissioner Tim DiCamillo following approval by the SUNYAC President's Council.
 
"St. John Fisher University is thrilled to be a member of the SUNYAC wrestling conference. We have so many wonderful relationships with the SUNYAC already that this affiliation will build on those partnerships," said Athletic Director, Bob Ward.
 
The Cardinals begin their season on Sunday, Nov. 5 when they travel to Lycoming College.
