PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's soccer team aims to stay undefeated in Empire 8 play this week, as they host Keuka before traveling to Hartwick.
The Cardinals won their lone game last week, beating Elmira 1-0 on Saturday behind a goal from junior
Emma Spelman. The victory moved them to 4-3-2 on the season, including 1-0-1 in Empire 8 play.
Wednesday's game at Growney Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 P.M., while their road game at Hartwick College is set to start at noon on Saturday.
Siobhan's Success: Junior
Siobhan McMakin has already doubled her career-high for points in a season, with six (three goals). Two of her three goals have been game-winners, tied for first in the conference.
Shooters Shoot: Spelman leads the team in both shots (22) and shots on goal (12). Those numbers are second and fifth in the conference, respectively.
Looking Back: The Cardinals are 3-0 against Keuka since 2005, including winning both games (2021 and 2022) since the Wolves joined the Empire 8.
Fisher also has a winning record against Hartwick, going 9-4-5 since 2005. The Cardinals took the 1-0 victory against the Hawks last season on a goal by
Kate Rachwal.
Player To Watch: Sophomore defender
Ryann Dauksza has avoided any sort of slump her second year with the Cardinals, notching a goal and an assist while playing as part of a defense that has the second-fewest goals allowed in the conference (eight in nine games).
