PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University field hockey team, coming off a week where it went 2-0 and outscored its opponents a combined 20-0, looks for continued success to start October against SUNY Brockport and Utica University.

The Cardinals travel to Brockport for an out-of-conference game on Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. before hosting Utica on Saturday at 1:00 P.M.

Fisher is currently 4-5 on the season, but is 2-0 in conference play.

Making A Note Here - Huge Success: As mentioned earlier, Cardinals are coming off a dominant week. On Wednesday, they beat conference foe Keuka College, 6-0, as junior Taylor Scrocca led the team with two goals and junior Senja Matson had the first full-game shutout of her career.

The Cardinals followed that up with a 12-0 win over Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday, setting a program record for goals in a game along the way. Junior Audrey Grieb had a hat-trick in Saturday's win, while junior Emma Cooper had five assists- the second-most in a single game in program history.

Back In Time: SUNY Brockport is set to join the Empire 8 starting next season, but the Cardinals already have a long history with the Golden Eagles- the team is 7-3 all-time against them. Although Fisher lost three games to Brockport early in the program's history, the Cardinals have now won seven straight. Their last meeting came in 2019, when the Cardinals won a home matchup, 5-0.

The Cardinals are 9-6 against Utica all-time, and like with Brockport all of those wins have come in a row: Fisher hasn't lost to Utica since November 9, 2014. Last season, the team won at Utica, 3-1.

Player To Watch: Cooper scored 11 total points last week for the Cardinals, including seven (a goal and five assists) in the win on Saturday. The Eden graduate is currently tied for second in the Empire 8 in assists, with eight, and is eighth in the conference in points (16). She scored in last season's win over Utica, and a repeat of that performance could move her even higher in the conference leaderboard.
