PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University wrestling schedule is set for the upcoming 2023-24 season. The Cardinals enjoyed a 5-4 opening season, while also competing in a variety of top competitions across the country. They will look to build on that year, while also making a move to the SUNYAC Conference.
The Cardinals will open the season at the Lycoming Invite on Sunday, Nov. 5. Last season, this competition saw wrestlers from SUNY Cortland, Elmira College, Oneonta State, Washington and Jefferson, Otterbein and York. The follow Saturday they remain on the road, competing in the Washington and Jefferson Invite.
Fisher will then head to RIT for back-to-back competitions, starting with the ECWC Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 18 and then the RIT Invite on Saturday, Dec. 2. Both are slated to start at 9 a.m. Prior to the new year, the Cardinals travel to SUNY Cortland for the Red Dragon Duals. Fisher will take on the host Red Dragons, along with Alfred State College and SUNY Brockport.
The Cardinals will host the first competition of 2024. They welcome Utica University and Elmira College for the Cardinal Tri-Match in the Manning and Napier Varsity Gym on Wednesday, January 10. The following week, the team remains at home for a dual match against Penn State Behrend.
Throughout the rest of the year, the Cardinals will have dual matches against Case Western Reserve University (Jan. 20), University of Scranton (Feb. 18) and Penn College (Feb. 18), while also competing in the Jamestown Community College Open (Jan. 28), John Summa Invite (Feb. 3) and Mideast Futures Tournament (Feb. 25).
