ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's tennis team was on the road on Wednesday for an afternoon match against Nazareth College. Despite a hard fought effort, the Cardinals fell to the Golden Flyers, 8-1. Fisher falls to 4-2 on the year and 1-2 in Empire 8 conference play, while Naz jumps to 4-0 on the season and 3-0 in conference competition.
 
The sole victory for Fisher came on the racquet of Lilly Renzi. Renzi dropped the first set, but captured the second by a score of 6-4. In the third set it came down to a tiebreaker and Renzi recorded the 11-9 win to take the third set and the match.
 
Up next for the Cardinals is weekend contest on the road at Hartwick on Saturday, Oct. 1. The contest is slated for a 1 p.m. start time.
