PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's cross-country team competed in the Empire 8 Championship, taking second as a team. Five athletes earned honors, including one on the first-team, two on the second-team, and two on the third-team. Additionally, junior,
Ethan Billings, was named Empire 8 Runner of the Meet, as the conference unveiled its 2022 Men's Cross Country All-Conference selections on Thursday.
Empire 8 First Team
Earning first-team honors was junior,
Ethan Billings. Billings would claim first place with a time of 25:42.0. Billings used a strong brush over the final 1,000-meters to win the individual title by six seconds. at the 2022 Empire 8 Cross Country Championships at Field of Dreams Park on the campus of Houghton University on October 29. He won the race by just over six seconds in a time of 25:42.0 over the 8,000-meter course. Billings garnered All-E8 first team accolades for the third straight season.
Empire 8 Second Team
Senior,
Bogdan Rozvora was the Cardinal's next runner, finishing 10
th place with a time of 26:32.3. Senior,
Brandon Nicosia closely followed, finishing 12
th with a time of 26:41.4. Nicosia and Rozvora would both claim Empire 8 Second Team honors.
Empire 8 Third Team
Sophomore,
Nick Ferri, finished not far behind, taking 15
th place with a time of 26:53.6. Sophomore teammate,
Riley Nash, rounded out the Cardinal's top five, taking 21
st with a time of 27:25.7 Ferri and Nash would both earn Empire 8 Third Team honors.

Up Next: The St. John Fisher University men and women's cross country team will be competing in the 2022 NCAA Division III Niagara Region Cross Country Championship. The meet is hosted by the University of Rochester and the race will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12 on the Genesee Valley Park Cross Country Course. The women's 6k race is set to begin at 11 a.m. with the men's 8k beginning at 12 p.m.
