Men’s Soccer Fall To Mavericks On The Road

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's soccer team were on the road on Wednesday to take on Empire 8 foe, Medaille University. After falling behind early, the Cardinals were unable to make the comeback and fell by a final score of 3-1. The loss moves Fisher to 7-5-2 on the year and 6-2 in conference play, while the Mavericks shift to 9-1-6 and 4-1-3 in Empire games.
 
The Cardinals fell behind in the eighth minute and allowed the second goal in the 21st minute. Fisher failed to register a shot in the first half and the first attempt came in the 54th minute. Ben Woolingham took a shot to the bottom left that the opposition saved. Tim Brown followed with an attempt a minute later that was also saved by the goalie. The Cardinals were able to get on the board in the 78th minute on a shot by Woolingham to cut their deficit to two goals. The offense did not come alive for Fisher and they fell by a final score of 3-1.
 
Fisher will have their final game of the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 29 when they head to Nazareth College for a 12 p.m. kick off.
