PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University schedule is set for the 2022-23 Women's Basketball season. Last year, the Cardinals finished with a 26-3 record and 15-1 in Empire 8 conference play, and took home the conference championship for the sixth time in program history and second time in three years.
Kick-Off At Home: Fisher will begin the year with their home-opener on Tuesday, Nov. 8 against Buffalo State. Last season, the Cardinals defeated the Bengals on the road, 65-56, prior to beginning the bulk of conference games. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
Early Tournaments: Early in the season, Fisher will be a part of two tournaments. The first will be on Nov. 11-12 as they travel to John Carroll University for the John Carroll Tip-Off Tournament. The Cardinals will take on Hiram College on Friday, before competing against Allegheny College on Saturday.
The next week, Fisher will be a part of the Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout, hosted by the University of Rochester and featuring Nazareth College and RIT. The Cardinals will take on the Yellowjackets on Thursday, Nov. 17, before taking on RIT at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19.
Start Of Conference Play: Fisher will begin conference games at home on Dec. 2 and 3. They will host Alfred University and Elmira College. The Cardinals have suffered just four conference losses in the last three season, and just one in each of the last two campaigns. They will look to continue their conference dominance this year.
Battle of the Beaks: The Cardinals will play their rivals, Nazareth College, twice this season and the first will me at home. It will be an early week battle with the two teams meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the Manning and Napier Varsity Gym. The second game will be towards the end of the year, with the Golden Flyers hosting on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m.
