HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team had its two-match winning streak snapped on Saturday as the Cardinals fell to host Houghton College, 9-0, in an Empire 8 bout inside the Kerr-Pegula Field House. With the defeat, Fisher fell to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the Empire 8 while the Highlanders improved to 6-3, 6-0, respectively.
In doubles play, senior
Jordan O'Connell and
Kyle Gorman fell 8-6 at first doubles while
Sean Danahy and
Cameron Campbell were best at second doubles, 8-3.
In singles action,
Anthony Molosag fell at fifth singles in three frames, 6-4, 3-6, 3-10 while Danahy was upended in the first flight, 2-6, 3-6.
Fisher will look to right the ship at 4 p.m. on Wednesday when it hosts Nazareth College at Mendon Racquet and Pool Club.
