PITTSFORD, N.Y. – After nabbing a second-place finish at the Empire 8 Conference Championship, six members of the St. John Fisher College men's cross country team were recognized as all-conference performers, including two major award winners, as announced by the conference office on Thursday.

Grant Stokoe was named the Empire 8 Runner of the Year after taking top-two finishes and running personal best times in two races this season, including winning the individual title at the conference championship on April 9. His time of 19:08.3 was two seconds faster than the 6,000-meter race's runner up and garnered the junior first team honors for the first time in his career. Stokoe is now just the second Fisher runner to win the Championship race - the first since Cohen Miles-Rath won gold in the program's inaugural season in 2011.

Joining Stokoe on the Empire 8's first team was the conference's Rookie of the Year, Ethan Billings. The freshman impressed on multiple levels this season as he was the conference's best-finishing first year student-athlete, taking third place finishes in both races the team participated in this season, including a career-best time in the 6K at 19:21.8. Billings is the first Fisher rookie to win the award since Andrew Ford in 2018.

Rounding out the first team selections for the Cardinals was Bogdan Rozvora, who earned his second consecutive Empire 8 recognition. He grabbed sixth and eighth place finishes this season, including a personal-best time of 19:45.1 in the 6K at the conference championship.

Ryan Allen and Brandon Nicosia were named to the All-Empire 8 second team as the duo finished within the top-20 at the championship race, including best finishes of 14th and 16th, respectively.

Jason Kincaid was was selected as the team's representatives on the Empire 8 conference's 2021 Sportsman of the Year teams.  "The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "competing with honor and integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen. "
