PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team fell to Nazareth College, 8-1, on Wednesday in an Empire 8 match at Annette Shapiro Courts. With the defeat, Fisher fell to 0-3 on the year and 0-2 in the standings while the Golden Flyers improved to 3-0 on both fronts.
After falling in all three doubles matches, the Cardinals looked to get on the board in singles play.
Sean Danahy went to three sets at first singles before falling, 6-1, 4-6, 3-6, while
Kyle Gorman picked up a point at second singles behind a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 win.
Jordan O'Connell went to three sets at fourth singles before falling and
Anthony Molosag was bested in three at fifth singles, 1-6, 6-4, 5-7.
Fisher will look for its first win of the season at 4 p.m. on Friday when it travels to Alfred to take on the Saxons in an Empire 8 pairing.
