NEW ORLEANS, La. – Two members of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men's track and field team were honored this week as both Eddie Mahana and Kyle Rollins were each named All-American by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Under normal circumstances, to become an All-American, a student-athlete would need to finish inside the top eight in the final of an individual event or as a member of a top-eight placing relay at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship.  As the event was forced to be canceled due to COVID-19, the selection process was modified to recognize anyone who qualified for the National Championship in a given event.

Now a four-time All-American, Mahana was recognized after having qualified for NCAAs for the third consecutive year after posting a program record time of 8.02 seconds at the Empire 8 Championship in late February to secure him the third-fastest time in the nation. The Clay native was named an All-American in the 60m hurdles for the second straight year after having finished eighth at last year's Indoor Championship.

One of the most decorated student-athletes in the program's history, Mahana helped lead Fisher to its third Empire 8 Championship on the indoor side earlier this year. An All-Region selection at the conclusion of the year, he was named All-Conference in four different events and claimed three Empire 8 individual titles in all. He is a three-time Empire 8 Track Athlete of the Year recipient, a 20-time All-Conference honoree and a National Runner-Up after having placed second in the 110m hurdles by just a thousandth of one second (.001) in 2019.

Rollins was named All-American in two events as the Groveland native continued to cement himself as one of the top performers in the high jump and triple jump in the nation.

The junior was unstoppable in the high jump after winning all six competitions he participated in, including the Empire 8 Conference Championships and the Atlantic Regional Championships. Rollins ranked second in the nation with a season-best 2.15-meter leap that tied his own program record.

In the triple jump, he won the event three times throughout the season and ranked third regionally and in the top-10 in Division III. His best mark of 14.61 meters came at the Brockport Multi Invite.

Over the last three seasons, Rollins has earned his fair share of accolades.  He is a six-time All-American and one of four individuals in Fisher history to win a National Championship after having done so in the high jump in 2019. He also finished as the National Runner-Up in the same year during the indoor season.

A former Empire 8 Rookie of the Year in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, Rollins has been named the Empire 8 Field Athlete of the Year three times in all and has earned All-Conference distinctions 13 times.
