PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback on Tuesday as the Cardinals hosted Houghton College inside Mendon Racquet and Pool Club.  With the loss, Fisher slipped to 1-10 on the season and 1-2 in the Empire 8 while the Highlanders improved to 7-4 overall and sit atop the Empire 8 at 4-0.

In doubles play, Fisher posted an 8-7 win in the first flight behind a strong performance from Jonathan Harper and Dustin McCullough.  The Cardinals nearly upended the Highlanders in the second flight as John Miller and Jarrett Pelton came up just short after falling 8-7.

In singles play, Jordan O'Connell won his sixth singles pairing, 6-3, 6-4.

Fisher will look to get back on track on Saturday when it travels to Albany to face The Sage Colleges in an Empire 8 match.
