ALBANY, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team picked up its second win in Empire 8 action on Saturday as the Cardinals cruised to a 9-0 win over The Sage Colleges. With the win, Fisher improved to 2-9 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
In doubles play,
Jonathan Harper paired up with
Dustin McCullough for an 8-1 win at first doubles while
John Miller and
Jordan O'Connell took a point at second doubles behind an 8-3 triumph.
Tim Christman and
Michael Zintel came out on top in third doubles at 8-1.
Miller posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles before McCullough went 6-0, 6-2 at second singles. Christman was the winner at third singles while O'Connell dropped just one set in a 6-1, 6-0 win at fifth singles.
Kyle Gorman earned his first win of the season at sixth singles with a 6-4, 6-0 decision.
The Cardinals are back in action at 12 p.m. on Sunday when they host Elmira College at Mendon Pool and Racquet Club.
