BOSTON, Mass. – Four players finished in double figures in the scoring column as the St. John Fisher College women's basketball team moved to 2-0 behind a 69-59 win over Husson (0-1) on Saturday in the opening round of the Emmanuel College Tip-Off Tournament.
Leah Koonmen finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals while

After taking a nine-point lead into halftime, the Cardinals continued to push the pace to begin the third quarter as Eckert found Mertsock on the block to extend the lead to 11 points, 38-27.
Fisher's advantage would grow to as many as 16 points following a 3-pointer by Lynch, but the tides turned as the period wore on with the Eagles stringing together 10 unanswered points to pull to within six, 47-41. From there, Fisher would regain its footing and carried an eight-point lead, 52-44, into the final frame.
As the fourth quarter got underway, Fisher began to pull away after an 8-2 run capped off by a 3-pointer from Lynch staked the visitors to a 14-point margin, 60-44, with under seven minutes to play.
Husson would eventually chip away and pulled to within seven points, but that was as close as it would come as Fisher knocked down five free throws over the final 75 seconds to earn its second win of the season.
As a team, the Cardinals 23-of-51 (.451) from the field. Head coach
Melissa Kuberka's lineup was 17-for-22 from the free throw line and forced the Eagles in to 23 turnovers.
