Coming out of the break, the Cardinals' offense erupted with two goals in a span of 2:30 to turn a one-goal deficit into a one-goal advantage.

The lead would be short-lived, however, as New Paltz evened the score at 3-3 in the 56th minute. Both offenses continued to click down the stretch with
Alyssa Andres beating the Hawks' keeper in the 59th frame after
Gianna Palma threaded the needle to make it 4-3. From there, the Hawks continued to apply the pressure and tied the game at 4-4 just over one minute later.

Ashley Maynard to preserve the tie.
Following 70 minutes of play, the two teams took the field for overtime where Fisher peppered the Hawks' goalie with three quick shots including the game-winning goal as Palma connected with Bergamo for her first-career goal as Fisher emerged on top, 5-4.
