PITTSFORD, N.Y.– On a snowy April Thursday evening, the No. 24 St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team defeated Buffalo State 16-9 in a non-conference matchup at Growney Stadium. With the win, the Cardinals improve to 7-2 overall on the season, while the Bengals fall to 5-5 overall.

The Cardinals got the goal scoring started at the 27:27 mark after the opening whistle, as
Mackenzie LeVan scored her 13

Mallory Eymer assist. In just a three-and-a-half-minute span, Fisher was able to rattle off three more goals, the first coming off the stick of
Morgan Young, from
Kelsie Schindler. Doyle then followed up with her first two goals of the game giving her eight on the season, with Eymer able to pick up her second assist of the evening.
Buffalo State notched its first goal of the game at the 21:13 mark of the first half, while then scoring its second goal less than two minutes later to cut the Fisher lead to 4-2.
Once again, the Cardinals were able to put together a scoring run, this time with five consecutive goals. Schindler started off the scoring with just over 18 minutes remaining in the half.
Claire Bollin joined the scoring with her team-leading 15

Allison Rupp one of which was on the man-advantage with the assist going to LeVan. Eymer was able to add a goal to go along with her two assists to help put the Cardinals ahead 9-2.
The Bengals were able to battle back and score two goals of their own before the halftime horn sounded, as Fisher took a five goal advantage into the intermission break.
Just like the first half, Fisher was the first on the scoreboard early on in the second half, as Doyle notched her hat-trick with Schindler picking up her third point of the game. Bollin scored her 16

Both teams traded goals back and forth for the next 12 minutes of the second half, as

Two more Buffalo State goals made it a six goal game again with just over eight minutes remaining, until Schindler was able to beat the Bengal goalkeeper off of a feed from
Maria Hristodoulou in front of the cage. One more goal from each side, including Eymer's second of the game helped finish off the Cardinals fourth consecutive victory at Growney Stadium.
Senior goalkeeper

The Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday when they welcome East Avenue rival Nazareth College to Growney Stadium for an Empire 8 Conference matchup scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
