Twenty-Two Goals, Most Since 2011 Help Women's Lacrosse Dominate Sage In Empire 8 Action

TROY, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team scored a season-high 22 goals, as the Cardinals defeated The Sage Colleges 22-0 for their fourth consecutive victory. With the win, the Cardinals improve to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the Empire 8, while the Gators fall to 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

The twenty-two Cardinal goals are the most in a single game dating back to April 9th, 2011 when Fisher defeated Susquehana University 23 to 10.

Fisher got the goal scoring started early on the road, as the visitors scored eight goals within the first eight minutes of the opening half. Claire Bollin started the scoring, when she took a feed from Kelsie Schindler and finished her 19thgoal of the season just a minute and half after the opening whistle.

Mallory Eymer continued the scoring with a hat-trick for the Cardinals followed by goals from Bollin, Mackenzie LeVan, and Maria Hristodoulou giving them an 8-0 lead at the 22:19 mark.

Alyssa Sabotka scored her seventh of the season, as Olivia Marziale picked up the assist. Schindler added to her already one assist with a goal of her own, after finding the back of the net off a Molly Rourke feed.

Morgan Young and Logan Chase found their way on the scoresheet, as they tallied their 13thand 12thgoals respectively. Hayley Maguire was able to beat the Sage goalkeeper twice in a row less than three minutes apart, while Chase added an assist.

Emily Smith scored her second of the season, while Jenna Lippert added her fourth late in the half to give Fisher a 16-0 lead into the halftime break. The Fisher defense was able to hold the Gators without a shot, as the Cardinals held a 21-0 shot advantage.

Allison Rupp scored her first of the game five minutes into the second half, which was followed by Smith's second of the game. Chase added two more goals, as the sophomore completed her hat-trick over the next six minutes.

As the final 10 minutes of the second half ticked down, Young added her second of the game, followed by Ariana Strife's first career-goal finished off the dominating performance.

Goalkeeper Morgan Hayes was credited with the victory as she started the game and played the first half, while Claudia Mocciaro saw the action between the pipes in the second half making one save.

The Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday, when the travel to SUNY Fredonia for a non-conference matchup at 5 p.m.
