HILTON HEAD, SOUTH CAROLINA – The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Baldwin Wallace University. The loss brings the Cardinals to 0-4 on the year.
Kevin Kulawiec and Dustin McCullough would drop the first bout with their opponents, 8-4. In the second and third doubles matches of the day, Jarrett Pelton and John Miller as well as Jordon O'Connell and Jonathan Harper would duke it out but eventually fall, 8-6.
McCullough would highlight the day for the Cardinals, toughing out a hard fought battle in third singles with his Yellow Jacket opponent, eventually winning in three sets with scores of 2-6, 6-3 and 10-4.
Harper would also take a win in fourth singles, defeating his opponent in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-3.
Pelton and Zintel would wrap up the day with close matches in fifth and sixth singles.
The Cardinals return to the court at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday as the team is slated to wrap up their spring trip with a bout with Lynchburg College.
