HILTON HEAD, SOUTH CAROLINA – The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team dropped its first match of the spring campaign in Hilton Head to Wilkes University, 9-0.
The doubles teams consisting of Kevin Kulawiec and John Miller as well as Dustin McCullough and Jonathan Harper put up the biggest fight for the doubles contests of the day, falling 8-3 in first and second doubles.
Kulawiec also put up a fight in first singles, dropping in two sets with scores of 6-1 and 6-4. Harper would rally in third singles, dropping in straight sets with scores 6-3 and 6-3.
The highlight of the day came in Jarrett Pelton who would win the only set of the day against his Wilkes opponent. However, Pelton would eventually fall in fifth singles.
Fisher returns to the court at 8:30 a.m. on Monday as the team is slated to take on Eastern Nazarene College.
