PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team dropped its first and only match of the fall season against the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers, 8-1. With the loss, Fisher falls to 0-1, while RIT moves to 1-0.
The Cardinals picked up their only victory on the day in fourth singles. Dustin McCullough defeated his RIT opponent in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-4 for the victory. John Miller put up a fight with his opponent, but was eventually defeated, 6-3 and 6-3.
In doubles, Fisher would drop all three matches. However, there were some very close matches, including Jordon O'Connell and Mike Zintel falling to their opponents, 8-6. Vincent Grasso and Jarrett Pelton also attempted to claw back in their match, but would fall 8-5.
Fisher gets back in action in the spring season, playing its first match on Friday April 6, when the team travels to Oneonta to face the Hartwick College Hawks.
