PITTSFORD, N.Y. – 16 different players notched a hit as the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College baseball team scored a season-high 25 runs in a shutout win over Utica College on Friday in an Empire 8 conference bout at Dugan Yard. The No. 25 Cardinals, who have now won nine straight games and 12 of their last 13, smacked 29 hits in all including seven extra bases knocks. Fisher now sits at 17-6 overall and 5-0 in the conference, while the Pioneers fell to 11-10 and had a five-game conference winning streak snapped to finish the day at 5-2 in the Empire 8.
Fisher's 25 runs is the most the team has scored since 2008 when the Cardinals bested Utica, 28-5, while its 25 runs batted in is the highest single game total since driving in 26, which also came against Utica back on April 12, 2015.
In all the Cardinals allowed just two hits to Utica as
Anthony Brophy started on the hill for Fisher and remained unbeaten with the win to move to 6-0. Brophy went five innings and allowed just one hit while tallying five strikeouts.
Matt Toohey tossed a perfect sixth inning before being lifted for
Jonathan Schlesing who gave up one hit in an inning of work.
Bradley McAfee and
Trevor Rumsey pitched the final two innings.
Justin Graham had a day at the plate going 4-for-6 with a double, three RBI and three runs scored while
Thomas Pasquale also went 4-for-6 with two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored.
Malcolm Kelsey went 1-for-2 at the dish with a two-run homer and
Scott Eisenmenger came away with a hit in all three of his at-bats along with a pair of walks, three runs scored and an RBI.

Nate Roethel and
Victor Konstantinovsky each had two hits in the win with Konstantinovsky driving in four runs and scoring three more.
After scoring three runs in the first inning, the Cardinals erupted for eight runs on seven hits in the bottom of the second led by a pair of two-run hits from Graham and
Ryan Prevost to open up an 11-0 lead.
Fisher tacked on three more in the third inning with Trotman, Prevost and Pasquale each earning an RBI before sending 13 batters to the box in the sixth inning, which produced eight more runs on eight hits. The Cardinals scored three more in the home half of the seventh with Konstantinovsky,
Ryan Simmons and
Dillan Wilkinson driving in one run apiece.
Fisher will go for its 10th consecutive win at 10 a.m. on Saturday when it plays two more against Utica College at Dugan Yard.
