PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College baseball team overcame a six run deficit to extend its winning streak to eight games as the No. 25 Cardinals defeated The College at Brockport, 12-8, in a non-conference nine-inning game at Dugan Yard on Wednesday afternoon.  With the win, Fisher improved to 16-6 overall while the Golden Eagles fell to 15-10.
After falling behind 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, Fisher put up five runs on three hits and a Brockport error in the home half of the inning.
Allen Murphy led off the inning and reached first base on a 1-1 count after being hit by a pitch.
Frank Carnevale followed suit with a pinch hit walk before
Ryan Prevost dropped an infield single to load the bases with no outs.  The next hitter,
Thomas Pasquale, stepped in and drew a four-pitch walk to make it 6-1 while
Jack Trotman lined a pinch hit single to left that Brockport misplayed as Trotman ended up on second base with a pair of RBI to his credit.  Trailing 6-4, Fisher tacked on another run when
Ryan Fahy lifted a sacrifice fly to center that scored Trotman to pull the home team to within one run heading into the fifth.
The Golden Eagles padded their lead in the fifth inning with two more runs before Fisher plated its sixth run of the game in the seventh courtesy of an RBI double off
Scott Eisenmenger's bat.
Trailing by two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, Fisher chased four different pitchers and sent 11 hitters to the plate in all resulting in six runs on five hits to take a 12-8 lead.

Pasquale led off with a single down the left field line and moved into scoring position when Trotman came away with a single of his own.  After
Evan Ryan took four straight balls to load the bases,
Justin Graham doubled down the right field line to score a pair and tie the game at 8-8.  After a pitching change, Fahy smacked a two-run double over the centerfielder's head that scored two more to put the Cardinals ahead 10-8.  The Golden Eagles elected to intentionally walk Eisenmenger to set up the double play possibility, but the plan backfired as Carnevale singled and Prevost drew a bases loaded walk to make it a three-run game.  As Fisher's lineup turned over, Pasquale notched a sacrifice fly and an RBI with a fly ball to left to make it 12-8 before Brockport could retire the side.
Heading to the top of the ninth, Brockport had the leadoff man on base, but that was all the offense it could muster against
Kyle Chambers as the sophomore pitcher struck out the side to cap the come-from-behind win.
Fisher used five pitchers in all with
DJ Mendenhall earning his first win of the season.
Caleb Lee started the game and went three innings where he allowed five runs (one earned) on three hits.
Jason Wasilnak pitched two innings and surrendered three runs (two earned) on four hits before being lifted in favor of
Kevin Berge who tossed a pair of perfect innings.

At the plate, Fisher drove in 11 on 12 hits with three going for extra bases.  In all, eight different players had a hit in the win.
The Cardinals' next game will be at 3 p.m. on Friday in an Empire 8 doubleheader against Utica College at Dugan Yard.
