The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team took on Methodist College on Tuesday during its spring break campaign in Hilton Head, S.C.
Fisher would lose the match 8-1, the only win coming from
Jonathan Harper, who took down his opponent after losing the first set 5-7, then coming back to win the second 7-5,. He would go one to win the third set 10-8.
Methodist swept in doubles play, as
Quinn Magiera and
Jacob Zarzycki took on the Monarch's first singles pair, losing 8-2.
Dustin McCullough and Harper were bested in second doubles 8-2 as well. In the third spot, the pair of
John Miller and
Adam Moran lost 8-1.
In singles play, Magiera competed in the top spot yet again, and was defeated by his opponent 6-1, 6-2. Miller took the second flight, losing the closest singles match of the day at 6-2, 6-3. In the third spot was
Jarrett Pelton, who would go on to lose his match 6-0, 6-2.
Fisher will return to action on Wednesday when it takes on the University of Mount Union.
