Men's Lacrosse Unable to Overcome Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team fell, 8-6, to Hamilton College Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, Fisher falls to 5-3 on the year, while the Continentals improve to 3-5 overall.

Hamilton hit first as the Continentals scored just over a minute into the contest. The Cardinals answered back though with goals from Glenn Roschetzky and Drew Brown before the periods end.

The second period was a mirror image of the first with, Fisher scoring only once compared to Hamilton's two. Andrew Rosso was garnered the goal and Drew Brown was credited with the assist.

Tied coming out of the break, Hamilton netted the first three of the third quarter. Fisher slimmed the lead down to one, courtesy of scores from TJ VanDeusen and Nick Papayanakos, but the Continentals slipped another one in just before the whistle, earning them a 7-5 lead going into the final stanza.

Papayankos netted one in the fourth, but it was matched by Hamilton and they would hold on for the win.

Goal scoring came from five different Cardinals on the evening, led by Brown's two.

Tanner Swan played all 60 minutes in goal for Fisher, turning aside 10 opposing shots.

Men's lacrosse returns to action at 12 p.m. on Saturday as the team squares off against nearby-rival Nazareth College. The team will also be supporting the "Donate Life America" organization and will have a tent set up by the field where fans can sign up to become an organ donor.
