ONEONTA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College women's volleyball team split its two matches on Saturday at an Empire 8 crossover, hosted by Hartwick College. In their first match, the Cardinals fell to Stevens Institute of Technology in four sets 25-23, 21-25, 13-25, 23-25. In the second match of the day, the Cardinals swept Hartwick in straight sets 26-24, 25-18, 25-13. The Cardinals moved to 21-7 overall on the season and 6-2 in the Empire 8 Conference. Stevens improved to 22-6 overall and 8-0 in the conference, while Hartwick fell to 10-15 and 4-4 in the Empire 8.

Elise Kreuz finished with 19 digs and surpassed the 1,000 career dig mark for her career as a Cardinal.
Senior
Anna Marcy led the way offensively with 17 kills and three blocks. Fellow senior
Katie Mazierski added 11 kills, 10 digs, and three service aces, while
Izzy Smith added 10 kills. Fisher took the first set in the match out-hitting the Ducks in kills 12-9 and the help of four service aces.
The Cardinals were able to go on a 7-2 run late in the fourth set, however were held off by the Ducks as they won the next three sets to take the match. Setter
Rebecca Hay tallied 24 assists throughout the match.
In the Cardinals second match of the day versus the Hawks, Marcy again led the way with 15 kills, while Mazierski added another 10 in the straight set victory.
Amanda Miller, Kreuz, and Marcy each notched two of the Cardinal's 10 service aces in the match.
As a team, Fisher hit a whopping .455 in the second set with 17 kills and only two errors to help maintain the momentum heading into the third set. The Cardinals followed suit and hit an impressive .310 to take the third set and the match.
Defensively, Mazierski, Marcy, and Kreuz pitched in 11, 10, and nine digs respectfully, while Hay notched a game-high 29 assists.
The Cardinals are back in action at 6 p.m. on Wednesday as they travel to Cortland, N.Y. to take on SUNY Cortland in a non-conference matchup.
